Paula, along with her husband, Jim, and their children served as missionaries in Senegal, West Africa from 1998 to 2016. But her interest in working with international people and cultures did not start then. Paula’s parents and family hosted internationals in their home for years while Paula was growing up and it felt ‘normal’ and this was a wonderful and foundational experience. Paula loves learning about other cultures and meeting people from around the world. Paula understands cross-cultural adjustments and desires to serve God by offering hospitality, friendship, and practical help to students as they transition and assist them in their success while at Illinois Central College/Central Illinois area.
